Using Quick Key with 1-to-1 Devices
Introduction to Quick Key 1-to-1
If your students have their own phone, tablet, laptop, Chromebook, or computer, they can take a Quick Key quiz on it, instead of on paper. These quizzes are graded automatically by Quick Key and the results are treated the same way as scanned results in reports and everywhere else in Quick Key.
You have two options: you can either send Access Keys to your students using email, or you can give your students a "Quiz Code" which they will then use alongside their student ID to log into Quick Key 1-to-1 and take the quiz. Access Keys are individualized, secure links you send to your students that give them 1-click secure access to the Quiz on their device.
Step 1: The first step in distributing your quiz digitally is in your teacher portal at www.quickkeyapp.com. Log into your portal and then navigate to the Quizzes page and find the quiz you want to distribute. Press the button next to your Quiz that says "Distribute Quiz Digitally." (see the screenshot).
Step 2: Choose whether to send access keys to students, or give students the Quiz Code. Once you press the "distribute" button, you will see a dialog that lets you choose which Courses to send the access keys to.
- Using Access Keys: Your students will need to have email addresses on file in Quick Key so they can receive the access key. When you see the Distribution Dialog (see screenshot below), choose which Courses to send the Access Key by selecting the checkboxes next to each Course, and then press "Send Access Keys" at the bottom of the dialog. Once your students receive their access key, all they need to do is click on the Access Key and they will be taken to Quick Key 1-to-1 and logged in automatically to the proper quiz.
- Using the Quiz Code: if your students don't have email addresses on file in Quick Key, they can still access the Quiz digitally. Simply give them the Quiz Code that is shown in the Distribution Dialog (see screenshot below) and tell them to enter that code and their 4-digit Quick Key Student ID on www.student.quickkeyapp.com
Make sure you see the confirmation that Access Keys were sent, and that the number of students who received access keys makes sense to you given which Courses you chose to send the keys (see screenshot below).
Step 3: Watch the results come in! You can see the results of each quiz come in as your students submit their quizzes from their device. These results will appear on your mobile app as well, just like regular scanned quiz results do.
If you need help, email us or go to any web page or your teacher portal and click the little green disc on the bottom right corner of the page.
