How To Scan Quick Tickets:
Before you scan:
Make sure you have created a list of students and assigned them to at least one Course. Make sure you create a Quiz on the phone Make sure you have printed the Quick Ticket form. When you want to scan a quiz, go to your list of Quizzes on the phone. Find the quiz you want and press "Scan". It will ask you to tell it which Course you want to scan for. This is why you need to make a list of students and courses first. fill in the bubbles with a dark-colored medium like #2 black pencil or pen or marker. Stay in the bubbles, and fill them completely. Make sure the Student ID field on each paper answer key is marked with a Student ID that matches one in the Course list of students you are scanning for.
Now for the scanning part:
once the answer keys (Quick Ticket) are all filled out with Student ID and answer choices, it is time to scan! place the stack of Quick Tickets on a desk or table press "Scan" and position the phone over the stack of Quick Tickets, PARALLEL to the surface of the table. Make sure the flash (bottom center of the screen) is set to 0%. the flash is bad for pencil, and only to be used in low-light situations. it should be off by default The Quick Ticket should fill at least 75% of the screen, but be sure ALL BORDERS ARE VISIBLE to the scanner. There is a set of green guide brackets to show you the optimal size of the Quick Ticket image on the screen. Hold still. The scanner should "beep" and show you an overlay of the student name and fractional score once the scan is successful. Move on to the next quiz. If the scanner scans a Quick Ticket twice, that's fine, the second scan is thrown away.
IF the scanner won't scan at all: be sure the viewfinder can see all the borders of the Quick Ticket. move in or out slightly, then hold still again. Some people start very close and then slowly move up and out until the scanner beeps
If the scanner misses a question or there are duplicate marks, press the show results button on the lower left corner of the scanning screen. Click on the student's name with the bad scan and delete quiz. Then rescan it :)
